VENOUS AND ARTERIAL THROMBOLYSIS

Thrombolysis is a minimally invasive treatment used to dissolve clots (blockages) from arteries and veins. A catheter (small tube) is navigated to the area of the clot and clot-busting drugs are infused in the vessel to dissolve the clot. Other devices may also be used to break up and remove the clots. Stents may be implanted to prevent further clots from developing in the future.
