COVID 19

At CRL Imaging/CRL Women’s Imaging, we are closely monitoring ongoing developments related to COVID-19. We are hopeful that the information below will provide further clarification regarding the illness itself, as well as preventative measures, and what to do if you are experiencing symptoms. We take the safety and well-being of our patients and employees very seriously. If you are experiencing any symptoms (fever, cough, difficulty breathing) do NOT come into our clinic at this time. Please call (952) 915-4320 to reschedule your appointment or speak with one of our staff.

COVID-19 is a viral respiratory illness caused by a newly identified coronavirus. A good source of additional information can be found on the CDC website.

How does it spread?

The virus is thought to spread between people who are in close contact (within about six feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, or talks. It may also spread when one person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touches their mouth, nose, or eyes.

This coronavirus causes mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing. Evidence suggests that incubation period is between 2-14 days.

What to do if you have symptoms:

If you have traveled traveled outside the country or on a cruise in the past 14 days, or have been in close contact with someone, including healthcare workers, who is a lab-confirmed COVID-19 infected patient within the past 14 days, or if you are experiencing symptoms please follow the guidelines recommended by the CDC.

As an Imaging Provider CRL Imaging/CRL Women’s Imaging is not the first line for information regarding this type of illness, its testing and/or treatment – nor do we offer the testing in our clinic.

We strongly encourage you to please contact your Primary Care Provider (such as an internal medicine or family practice clinic) for further guidance.

BEING PROACTIVE HELPS WITH PREVENTION

Patients may also be asked to self-quarantine at home in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

Prevention

No vaccine is currently available for the coronavirus causing COVID-19. The best way to prevent the illness is to avoid exposure through simple precautions. Prevention steps include:

  1. Wash your hands often with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  2. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol if soap and water are not readily available.
  3. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  4. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  5. Stay home if you’re feeling sick.
