Biography

Dr. Rishi Kalra serves as a teleradiologist with Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL), where he brings expertise in diagnostic radiology with specialized training in musculoskeletal imaging to patient care. When needed, this focused knowledge of bones, joints, muscles, and soft tissue imaging allows him to support orthopedic teams and contribute to the diagnosis and treatment of complex musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Kalra earned his medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Auburn, Alabama, before completing his diagnostic radiology residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai West in New York. During his residency, he was honored to serve as Chief Resident, an experience that deepened his understanding of leadership in patient care. He further refined his expertise through fellowship training in musculoskeletal radiology and imaging informatics at the University of Pennsylvania.

As a member of the Emergency/Teleradiology team at CRL, Dr. Kalra plays a vital role in providing around-the-clock radiology coverage for hospital partners. This position allows him to do what he finds most meaningful—helping patients during critical moments when timely imaging interpretation can make all the difference in their care. Whether it’s a late-night trauma case or an urgent study that needs immediate attention, he’s part of the team that ensures patients receive the radiological expertise they need when they need it most. He approaches each case with the mindset of treating every patient as he would want his own family members to be treated, focusing on providing accurate and timely reports that help guide treatment decisions.

Dr. Kalra’s dedication to compassionate care extends beyond his daily practice. He has participated in medical mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Honduras, experiences that have reinforced his belief in healthcare as a fundamental human need and strengthened his resolve to serve others with humility and skill.

When not practicing medicine, Dr. Kalra enjoys playing pickup basketball and exploring new places through travel. As a devoted fan of New York sports teams, particularly the Knicks and Giants, he values the connections and friendships that enrich life beyond the clinical setting.

Dr. Kalra is committed to being a dependable partner to his medical colleagues across CRL’s hospital network, providing the comprehensive and timely radiological expertise that emergency and clinical teams rely on. Whether interpreting a complex musculoskeletal study or providing urgent overnight coverage, he brings the same meticulous care and specialized knowledge to every case. His approach reflects the values shaped by his leadership training, fellowship expertise, and mission work—understanding that each image represents not just a clinical question, but a person whose health and well-being depend on accurate, compassionate diagnostic care delivered when it matters most.
