Jerod Barnes, PA-C, brings more than 20 years of experience in emergency medicine and is dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care in every patient interaction. He is passionate about lifelong learning, professional growth, and helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes through collaboration and personalized care.
Jerod believes in treating others with the same respect, dignity, and compassion he would want for himself and his family. His approach centers on listening first, understanding each patient’s unique needs, and building meaningful connections with patients, families, and care teams.
One of the most rewarding aspects of his work is getting to know patients and their families. He values creating a comfortable environment where a smile or laugh can help ease anxiety and make a healthcare experience more positive.
Jerod was drawn to medicine because it combines his interests in science and the humanities. During his undergraduate years, while volunteering and shadowing healthcare professionals in local hospitals, he discovered his desire to work directly with patients as a provider and help improve their lives through compassionate care.
His patients continually inspire him with their resilience, determination, and strength during difficult circumstances. He considers it a privilege to learn from their experiences and support them throughout their healthcare journey.
Outside of work, Jerod enjoys spending time outdoors, especially during Minnesota summers. Hiking and fishing are among his favorite ways to recharge and stay active. He is also focused on his own health and wellness journey, with a goal of returning to participating in running road races.
PRACTICE PHILOSOPHY
Treat people the way I would want to be treated, including patients, families, staff , and colleagues. By seeking first to understand, I can build meaningful relationships and provide compassionate, patient-centered care.
