CRL doctor speaks at 2014 SOBRICE

CAMPINAS, BRAZIL, May 9, 2014 —Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL) neurointerventional radiologist (NIR) Dr. Josser Delgado, spoke on behalf of Abbott Northwestern Hospital and CRL at the 2014 meeting of the Brazilian Society of Interventional Neuroradiology on May 7th and 8th.

Dr. Delgado’s talks focused on organizing stroke systems of care to minimize the time from stroke symptom onset to groin puncture, technical aspects of mechanical thrombectomy, coiling of large brain aneurysms and management of dual antiplatelet therapy for patients with brain aneurysms treated with stents and flow diverters.

He stated that he hoped this unique opportunity to share Abbott Northwestern’s experience in the care of patients with neurovascular conditions would allow him to help other health centers in Brazil optimize the care of patients with major acute ischemic strokes, large brain aneurysms as well as effectively manage the antiplatelet agents administered to patients undergoing endovascular treatment of brain aneurysms.

Dr. Delgado came to Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. in July 2011 joining the NIR team at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. He completed a two-year fellowship in Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at the world-renowned Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.

As a fellowship-trained Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiologist, Dr. Delgado is highly skilled in the endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations and fistulas, strokes, and other neurovascular conditions of the brain and spine utilizing the latest technologies and advanced techniques.

The Brazilian Society of Interventional Neuroradiology is a meeting where radiologists from around the country of Brazil gather to share experiences, ideas, and network to further strengthen our healthcare community.
