Ultrasound Technologist
Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to ensure efficient and effective delivery of diagnostic ultrasound procedures to our patients and referring physicians.
Responsibilities
- Perform high quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures including but not limited to: Breast, Vascular, Carotid, Abdominal, OB/Gyn, Extremity, Pelvic, Thyroid, and Testicular.
- Work with the on-site radiologist to provide necessary assistance as needed.
- Educate patients on procedures performed and address patient concerns as needed.
- Provide proper patient information, medical history and perform administrative duties associated with each procedure performed.
- Review physician orders and scan patients in accordance with CRL protocols.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of on-site US equipment and coordinate proper maintenance when necessary.
- Maintain supplies and stock linens daily. Order supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clear understanding of emergency clinical procedures.
- Maintain a high level of patient confidentiality in adherence with HIPAA guidelines.
- Be flexible with hours of operations as needed by the Clinic.
- Assist and maintain US ACR accreditation.
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist in clinic operations.
Qualifications
- ARDMS certification required.
- Graduate of a diagnostic medical ultrasonography program or equivalent required.
- Minimum of two years US experience.
- Breast US experience required.
- RVT Certification required.
- Compassionate, independent, highly skilled professional who works well with others.
- Have a vast knowledge of anatomy and pathology.
- Strong patient care and customer service skills.
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and time management skills.
- Previous outpatient clinical experiences a plus.
- CPR certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
- Lift more than 50 pounds from floor to waist.
- Lift up to 20 pounds over the head.
- Carry up to 40 pounds a reasonable distance.
- Push and pull with 30 pounds of force.
- Perform a standing transfer of 150 pounds with a second person present.
- Visual acuity to assess image quality and observe physical changes in the patient’s condition during routine sonographic procedures.
- Ability to discern color distinctions on the sonographic image.
- Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls while holding the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm.
- Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
- Ability to speak English and hear to give instructions to and receive communication from patients, as well as distinguish audible Doppler singles while performing the sonographic examination.
