Dr. Michael Rivlin joins Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. (CRL) as a teleradiologist, bringing specialized expertise in musculoskeletal imaging to patient care. His fellowship training in orthopedic imaging allows him to provide detailed interpretations of complex musculoskeletal conditions, with a particular interest in small joint examinations that require exceptional precision.
Dr. Rivlin’s path to a career in medicine began in childhood, marked by an early interest in human anatomy and science. This curiosity led him to pursue his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in his hometown of Miami, Florida. He completed his internal medicine internship and diagnostic radiology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, where he built a strong foundation in comprehensive imaging interpretation. He then pursued fellowship training in musculoskeletal imaging at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he refined his expertise in advanced orthopedic imaging techniques.
As a member of CRL’s Emergency/Teleradiology team, Dr. Rivlin particularly enjoys finding those specific diagnoses that explain patients’ symptoms—when imaging reveals exactly what’s causing someone’s pain or discomfort. His specialized training proves especially valuable when interpreting urgent orthopedic cases and complex joint studies that require immediate, expert analysis.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Rivlin contributes to medical education through lectures he has presented to radiology residents at Baylor College of Medicine on topics such as wrist anatomy and meniscal pathology. He also works on optimizing MRI protocols—particularly in tumor imaging and metal artifact reduction—to provide clearer visualization around surgical implants and enhance diagnostic accuracy for patients.
When he’s not in the reading room, Dr. Rivlin finds joy in playing guitar and spending time with family and friends, often over a meal at a new restaurant or around his own barbecue grill. As a dedicated sports fan, he prioritizes staying active through weight training and cardio, which helps him keep pace with his energetic young daughter. When discussing his achievements, he points not to his credentials but to his wife and daughter, who remain his greatest source of pride and motivation.
As a member of CRL’s teleradiology team, Dr. Rivlin provides the specialized musculoskeletal expertise that referring physicians rely on for their most challenging cases. His combination of fellowship training, teaching experience, and ongoing technical innovation makes him a valued partner in delivering comprehensive radiological services across our network.
