Certified Medical Coder

CRL Coding is seeking a full-time Diagnostic Radiology Coder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong professional (profee) radiology coding experience, a high degree of accuracy, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Candidates should be comfortable coding a full range of diagnostic imaging services, including PET/CT scans, mammography, X-ray, CT, MRI/MRA, and minor procedures. This position requires proven experience managing coding denials, applying LCD/NCD guidelines, and meeting established daily production goals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and units for all Diagnostic Radiology reports.
  • Code diagnostic imaging services such as PET/CT, mammography, X-ray, CT, MRI/MRA, and minor procedures in accordance with national coding guidelines and payer requirements.
  • Maintain productivity and accuracy standards, consistently achieving daily production goals.
  • Research and resolve documentation inconsistencies; escalate as necessary to ensure coding integrity.
  • Stay current on all ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, CPT, LCD/NCD, and payer-specific policy updates.
  • Assist with denial management by identifying, correcting, and preventing coding-related issues.
  • Support continuous process improvement and team collaboration.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or technical degree or equivalent working knowledge
  • Must be a Certified Professional Coder (CPC or RCC) in an active status, required.
  • Minimum 3 years of profee Diagnostic Radiology coding experience required.
  • Proficiency with computer-assisted coding software; CodeRyte and Imagine experience strongly preferred
  • In-depth understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and radiology coding principles.
  • Experience with coding denials and LCD/NCD medical necessity compliance
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and self-motivation
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a remote work environment.

 

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Frequent speaking in English, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands / fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, extended periods working at a computer.
  • Have a secluded and secure office area in which to perform job duties during the workday.
  • Have reliable high – speed internet access and a work environment free from distractions.
